Best shampoo and conditioner to bring out my curls?
My hair is perfectly curled on one side of my head, and on the other, there are no perfect curls. it just looks really uneven, and I wanna bring out the curls throughout ALL of my hair! Any shampoo and conditioner suggestions?Best shampoo and conditioner to bring out my curls?

I keep my hair very very curly and cute and its not really about the shampoo as much as the way you treat it. For example when you step out of the shower don't brush it and put it in a bun. Also you don't need conditioner every shower the less you use the curlier your hair will be so only get every singal tangle out 1-2 times a week.
also when its drying play around with it: grab it bunch it twirl it

its actually made all of his curls nice and the good thing is its pretty cheap. its an actual saloon brand its great!. and it actually made my wavy hair come out more wavy. i really recommend the shampoo/conditioner.
but if you want to go cheaper (but not as good) then go with Pantiene for curls.

I use conditioner instead of shampoo most of the time and i now apply the conditioner or shampoo on top of my head and work it down without messing up the hair and then rinse it.. use paper towel to absorb the moisture and then put gel on the paper towel spread it around and place it on top of my hair for a while then comb it out.. No more crazy curls or frizz...
If you have black girl hair like me the you really cant tame you hair down, trust me I'd tried, the only thing you can do is get a relaxer in you hair.It makes it wavy and soft. You have to do it every 6 months because your hair will grow and you roots will be curly.
to boost hair growth take Prenatal vitamins and they will help! a vitamin is not anything special it is simply extracted and concentrated ';food'; so it is safe!
take Biotin as well and do the following to boost hair growth

I'm wondering which shampoo and conditioner really work the best. I've considered Pantene Pro-V's Hydrating Curls, Herbal Essences Totally Twisted, Regis Hair Salon's Curl Lock, and Garnier Fructis Curl %26amp; Shine. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me which one of these is best. My hair is already naturally wavy, though I would really like to give it a lot more curl. Well, only one of those shampoos is actually good for your hair. All the others will leave waxes and other ingredients on your hair and leave them dull, dingy, and dehydrated. If you get Regis designLine Curl Lock, [which I work for a Regis salon, so maybe I am a bit biased] it will help hold your curls. But, it is not the shampoo and conditioner that will hold your curls. It's the after product...ie mousse, gel, holding cream, etc. If you go with Regis Curl Lock shampoo and conditioner combo, get the Regis Curl Lock Cream. It has a light smell, and it holds all day! It keeps your curls curly and definitely helps with the frizz factor. Another one I like is Curls Rock by Catwalk [Tigi]. It is basically the same as the Curl Lock Cream, except this one has a nicer smell and I think it is a dollar more...[not that the Regis one doesn't smell good...the Curls Rock one smells better]. Aveda has a new line that is very cool called ';Be Curly.'; My daughter is biracial and she has wery curly hair. I used this cream that I got a sample of at the salon. I put it on her hair when it was wet and when her hair dried (air dry) she had the coolest ringlets, when normally her hair gets kind of frizzy. The line includes a shampoo, conditioner and balm. you have to buy it at an Aveda shop or salon.

When I want to get maximum wave, I use ';Wash and Curl'; (not sure whether the ';and'; is an ';and,'; an ';'n,'; or an %26amp;). I let it drip for a few minutes when I get out of the shower and then I just use my hands to scrunch it. It stays and looks great.

I use Joico KPAK shampoo, conditioner and resconstructor once a week. (Walmart and Rite Aid sometimes has it as well as http://salonsavings.com/joico/ ) The online store has the best prices for the above products...
The difference between pro and supermarket shampoo's lies in the ph level as well as it being concentrated, using less is more, distributing through your hands first using a quarter size amount is all you need, I only have to buy twice a year.
The smoothing balm and styling elixer are awesome as well.
Leave in conditioners, INTEGRITY or Stregnthing Tonic applied before styling products will amaze you at the difference.
You will sucessfully tame your hair. The Joico smoothing balm is extremely helpful because its heat activated...

Does the curling shampoo really make straight hair curly?
No, it won't make your hair curly. I have naturally curly hair, but sometimes it wants to be really curly and sometimes it doesn't. I find the shampoo only minimally helps, I highly doubt it would help someone with straight hair. There is a product out there thats a one week waving solution. It's called Ogilvie 7 Day Curls. My best friend was wondering the same thing and she decided to mix the two together. Sounds weird but really works! It gives you smoother, softer, and prettier curls then either of the two alone.

For a cheaper alternative that will definitely work, try Herbal Essences curly shampoo (it's purple) and conditioner or SunSilk's curly shampoo and conditioner (it's green). I forget the manufacturer but CurlySexyHair has a mousse/spray combo that is expensive but great to scrunch your hair with.

I would recommend Kenra 25 Volume hairspray, some Matrix Instacure (it is a good detangler and keeps your hair healthy), and some Bedhead superstar, I have straight fine hair and those are the products I use and I have no problem making the curl hold. Before doing anything spritz instacure in your hair and comb through make sure that you get a wide toothed comb (it isn't good to use a brush in your hair when it is wet, because the hair is in a swollen state and can be easily broken) thoroughly comb the product through your hair,. While your hair is wet put about a quarter sized amount of the bedhead in your hair, and again thoroughly comb the product through your hair, blowdry your hair upside down, style as desired and spray with the kenra hairspray your hair should hold.hack myspace

I think the ';curling'; shampoo isn't as heavy on your hair as regular so that when you scrunch or curl your hair it isn't weighed down by the product you washed with. Try the got-2-be mousse in a pump can.

Curling shampoo will do nothing for you if you don't already have slightly wavy or curly hair. Straight and wavy/curly hair are structured differently, so there is no magic cure to make straight hair more curly.. I'd suggest trying a mouse or curl gel to try and lock in some waves. There are none like that. But if you buy a shampoo/conditioner for helping with frizz and to make hair silky, then it should help wiht some problems. Garnier, Sexy hair, and Paul Mitchell all have good products to help with the frizz problems.

I don't think shampoo will do the trick completely. My suggestion is to buy some moose (I use garnier frutics). When you get out of the shower, don't brush your hair. Flip your head down and scrunch your hair for a few minutes without putting product in it, then put the product in and keep scrunching! Then, while your head is still down, blow dry your hair. You don't need to blow dry it completely dry, but I usually dry it for about 3 or 4 minutes until its just damp. I'm still scrunching while i'm blow drying.

There is no such thing as a shampoo that will make straight hair curly - shampoo cannot alter the structure of your hair the way something chemical- like a perm - can.
If you have straight hair and want to go curly, you're going to have to try curling iron/rollers or talk to your hairstylist about getting a perm.

Best way to get your hair bouncy and curly (most of the products don't work or make your hair very sticky) is to comb it out as you usually do wet, and put it back up in the towel while you do other things keeping the weight off the hair makes it MORE curly and bouncy. The fast trick if your in a hurry, is to crunch your hair often while blow drying upside down. Keep grabbing bunches of your hair and clenching them with your finger tips as you dry. this help relieve some of the weight to keep it more curly. You can also apply a small amount of your favorite hair product just as styling gel, moose , root boost etc to give it a soft lock. And if your hair is dry and you need a quick touch up, just mist with a spray bottle and crunch some more and boom, the spring is back.
Garnier works. My sister has extremely uncontrollable curly hair and this simple green product has worked for her. My friend also has curly hair, and her curls look amazing! Of course, everyone's hair if different and the product may have different effects for different people, however, I believe it is worth a try. Use it for a couple weeks and see the difference. My sis has the same typ of hair. use paul mitchell round trip or catwalk curls rock. I have spiral-ish curly hair and I scrunch in some gel after I coumb it when I get out of the shower and its still wet. It works good because it looks natural, beachy, and it tames the friz.

Tres Semme makes awesome hair products for curly hair. Gel is probably not the best for curly hair you should look for a creme and then a spritz for after it is dry. Gels are too gooey for curly hair and probably weighs down your curls besides not doing too much to help with the frizz.

I don't know of a shampoo the will definately wash in curls, but here are some things you can do:
Shampoo hair with a cleansing shampoo. Avoid using a rinse out conditioner if it makes your hair too soft or flat. If your hair tangles, spritz while wet with a good detangling spray. Detangle with a wide toothed comb or a pick. Blot hair with an absorbent towel to remove excess water. Apply a good curl enhancing or styling gel.. Smooth the gel through your hair 1/2 inch from your roots to your ends. Blow dry hair with a diffuser attachment without brushing. Use fingers sparingly to lift and separate hair as you dry. Be careful to avoid brushing or tousling your hair as much as possible.
Note: If your hair has been chemically straightened or relaxed be advised that it may not hold the curl from the curling iron or curlers.
When hair is completely dry start at one side of your head and work on two inch sections of hair at a time. Roll each individual section of hair with fast heating large Conair Hot Rollers. Roll the hair in a spiral pattern as if you were creating a spiral curl with the curler. Fasten the curler in place.
If you don't have enough rollers to do your entire head, as you unfasten the newly created curls, pin them carefully in place with a clip or pin. Let the roller re-heat and then apply to a section that has not been curled. Keep the curlers in your hair until they have completely cooled which should be equivalent to 30 minutes. Adjust the time according to your hair texture and needs. Remove the curlers and avoid brushing or touching the curls until you are ready to style.
When you hair is completely cool, use a boars' head paddle brush and lightly brush through the curls to smooth.
When hair is completely smooth start at one side of your head and work on two inch sections of hair at a time. Use a Conair Steam Mist Spiral Curling Iron on each individual section of hair at a time. Shape curls into spirals with the iron as you work from strand to strand. Be sure to keep each strand wrapped around the iron for a few minutes. Adjust the time according to your hair texture and needs. For some people they will only need to use the iron for a few seconds. Thicker hair may require up to a few minutes.
After you remove each curl from the iron, let it completely cool before touching it. Do not brush or touch the newly created curls. When you have finished curling your entire head, spray with a good spray. If any of the curls are not as tight as you would like, use the curling iron to spot curl.
Carefully arrange the spirals with your fingers. Always finish with a light to medium spray to allow your hair to have movement.
No shampoo can actually curl your hair. In order for hair to curl, you have to change the entire composition of it! You can do so by perming it with harsh chemicals, but unfortunately a simple wash and rinse shampoo won't do the trick. Try rollers or a curling iron.

There are the temporary curling shampoos, but that will not do everything. You need to style your hair curly.
step 1. blot your hair until it is no longer sopping wet.
step 2. apply gel to hair. I like the pantene curling gel but that's me. Scrunch gel into hair.
Step 3. With a difuser (attachment for hair dryer) dry on lowest setting while scrunching hair.
Step 4. Spray pump hair spray (I like Aussie scrunching spray) into your dry hair. Scrunch one last time.
Tip- If any pieces did not curl, take a curling iron and curl them.
If your hair is SUPER straight, this may not work.

When hair is completely dry start at one side of your head and work on two inch sections of hair at a time. Roll each individual section of hair with fast heating large Conair Hot Rollers. Roll the hair in a spiral pattern as if you were creating a spiral curl with the curler. Fasten the curler in place.
If you don't have enough rollers to do your entire head, as you unfasten the newly created curls, pin them carefully in place with a clip or pin. Let the roller re-heat and then apply to a section that has not been curled. Keep the curlers in your hair until they have completely cooled which should be equivalent to 30 minutes. Adjust the time according to your hair texture and needs. Remove the curlers and avoid brushing or touching the curls until you are ready to style.
When you hair is completely cool, use a boars' head paddle brush and lightly brush through the curls to smooth.

After you remove each curl from the iron, let it completely cool before touching it. Do not brush or touch the newly created curls. When you have finished curling your entire head, spray with a good spray. If any of the curls are not as tight as you would like, use the curling iron to spot curl.
Carefully arrange the spirals with your fingers. Always finish with a light to medium spray to allow your hair to have movement.
No shampoo can actually curl your hair. In order for hair to curl, you have to change the entire composition of it! You can do so by perming it with harsh chemicals, but unfortunately a simple wash and rinse shampoo won't do the trick. Try rollers or a curling iron.

There are the temporary curling shampoos, but that will not do everything. You need to style your hair curly.
step 1. blot your hair until it is no longer sopping wet.
step 2. apply gel to hair. I like the pantene curling gel but that's me. Scrunch gel into hair.
Step 3. With a difuser (attachment for hair dryer) dry on lowest setting while scrunching hair.
Step 4. Spray pump hair spray (I like Aussie scrunching spray) into your dry hair. Scrunch one last time.
Tip- If any pieces did not curl, take a curling iron and curl them.
If your hair is SUPER straight, this may not work.

How can I give my hair volume without curling / volumizing shampoo / teasing?
Is there a simple way to give thin, flat hair volume without any of the above three? The shampoo doesn't do anything for me... the curling just takes too long to do every day, and teasing just makes it look skanky! I am a MALE and I have tight, slighty curly hair. The problem is that my hair looks dull and my hair is curlier in certain spots than others and it looks sorta wierd to me. My hair was the same way when I was like 5, but when I turned 6, it got real dry, coarse, and lost it's texture.
Note: I don't know if genetic info is of any help, but my father's side are east indian mixes and they have curly hair. Most of the guys start out with dry, texture-less hait but ended up VERY curly as they reached their 20s.
When I turned 19 a few yrs ago, myhair became curly again but it's only SLIGHTLY. Is there any kind of mousse or something that can AT LEAST enhance my curls?
As for my hair looking dull, I pretty much know that I will need conditioner or something to treat that problem. How often a week should I use leave in conditioner though? That is my 2nd question.
If anyone has any WORTHWHILE tips on how to treat my hair problem, they will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if the humidity affects your hair but this works great for that also. It will put a shine in your hair and if you kind of bunch your hair with your hands after you put the leave in conditioner in your hair it will enhance your curls and make it look a lot healthier. What is the best curl shampoo that's affordable amd good quality? (like something that i could buy a CVS)?
i am currently using Tresemme curl shampoo and it works fine and i am using herbal essences totally twisted gel afterward and then i let it be. i need something that will A.) make my hair curlier B.) make it soft C.) not make it greasy... i do alot of swimming so ill need something that is easy to rinse out and to do in a quick amount of time. my hair is about two inches past shoulder and thick curly/wavy (but mostly wavy) brown hair oh and i good product recommendation too! thanksWhat is the best curl shampoo that's affordable amd good quality? I think that you should buy the best conditioner that you can afford. Conditioners do make a difference. Make sure that you are buying one that is formulated to help you do what you want your hair to do.

She said anything that started with a ';P'; wasn't any good for anyones hair, including Paul Mitchells stuff. If you get anything not professional, she recommended Sauve and Herbal Essence. I changed to Sauve, and my hair has never looked and felt so healthy. I've heard many times about using ';P'; products before, so there's got to be some truth to it.

I have tried all curling products under the sun. For me, I find gels sticky and they make hair more frizzy. But I use a gel spray by Garnier Fructis. When I want to curl my hair, i use Sunsilk Waves of Envy shampoo and conditioner. They also have a spray that enhances your curls called beach waves. You can let your hair dry naturally, which makes it less frizzy, or blow dry it with a diffuser. Add the spray and a de-frizzing cream before you begin to blow dry all over. When you touch your hair a lot, it makes it frizzy so cover your hand with a towel and scrunch it that way. I can't even tell you how much of a difference it makes. So scrunch it as you blow dry and when you finish you can add more curl spray and a flexible hair spray. Don't add any gel or creams to your hair and scrunch it when it is dry. Got to B has good curling products stay away from mouses it will only frizz. Be careful with shampoos that advertise curl they may have a little perm solution in them. I have practiced cosmotology since 92 And have personally permed hair with pert and prell shampoos. So even if u end up with curl u will also end up with cotton candy hair eventually. =(

samy get curls gel (mix a nickel-sized amount with water, comb through hair with fingers)
VO5 curl scrunching spray %26amp; heat protection (spray hair, scrunch)
for a weightless gel to keep frizz down, try Biolage gelee.
you can use your hand and curl your hair then blow dry it and it makes your curls more curly.

Aveda Be Curly range is very good though expensive. If you had to buy one product get the Leave in Curl Enhancer (big tube like the conditioner). It's won lots of industry awards and is the only thing that tames my hair when the weather is humid.

I would like to know what a good curl enhancing shampoo is. I have mostly straight hair but it is starting to get some curl especially on the inside. I only air dry my hair and hate to use heat on it. So I would like to find a shampoo to help my hair curl even more.A Good Curl Enhancing Shampoo?
If you are open to using a product (while still air drying) I have two recommendations:
I love Tresemme's Curl Definition. You put it in after you have towel dried your hair and just scrunch and let dry.
For a more natural wavy look I use Bumble and Bumble Sea Salt Spray on damp hair and again just scrunch and air dry.

My sis has the same typ of hair. use paul mitchell round trip or catwalk curls rock. I have spiral-ish curly hair and I scrunch in some gel after I coumb it when I get out of the shower and its still wet. It works good because it looks natural, beachy, and it tames the friz.

Tres Semme makes awesome hair products for curly hair. Gel is probably not the best for curly hair you should look for a creme and then a spritz for after it is dry. Gels are too gooey for curly hair and probably weighs down your curls besides not doing too much to help with the frizz.

I got the book Curly Girl (by Massey) from the library a few days ago. I had considered myself to have dead-straight hair. I actually have a slight wave. Having the hair dry twisted or rolled or even just scrunched up makes a world of difference.
The test for this is to soak your hair and look at the ringlets or hanks when it's completely immersed in water. Squish the hair toward your head. If it just folds once, you have dead-straight hair. If it accordion-folds, then you have potentially wavy or curly hair.

If your wanting curls then: get in the shower and bath as normal, when u get out comb ur hair and do little braids all throughout your hair. Sleep over night and in the morning take them out. Your hair will be perfectly curly!

I am a MALE and I have tight, slighty curly hair. The problem is that my hair looks dull and my hair is curlier in certain spots than others and it looks sorta wierd to me. My hair was the same way when I was like 5, but when I turned 6, it got real dry, coarse, and lost it's texture.
Note: I don't know if genetic info is of any help, but my father's side are east indian mixes and they have curly hair. Most of the guys start out with dry, texture-less hait but ended up VERY curly as they reached their 20s.
When I turned 19 a few yrs ago, myhair became curly again but it's only SLIGHTLY. Is there any kind of mousse or something that can AT LEAST enhance my curls?
As for my hair looking dull, I pretty much know that I will need conditioner or something to treat that problem. How often a week should I use leave in conditioner though? That is my 2nd question.

Well I use Totally Twisted shampoo %26amp; conditioner by Herbal Essence and honestly it worked very well for my hair. It made it curl more and made my curls softer. I love it. It may work differently for different people though. Just try it and see how it works. I also found that washing my hair every 3rd day makes it a lot curlier. I don't know if the humidity affects your hair but this works great for that also. It will put a shine in your hair and if you kind of bunch your hair with your hands after you put the leave in conditioner in your hair it will enhance your curls and make it look a lot healthier. After you wash your hair let it dry about halfway and apply your favorite styling product, mousse, gel, hairspray, ect. Then pull into a bun high up on your head and let dry completely. When you pull it out turn your head upside down and shake a little, and viola beautiful natural looking curls! Good luck!

I have read about wash n curl, herbal essences totally twisted, SunSilk, Aussie and Fructice. I have tried Pantene in the past and it didn't work. Pantene ruins my hair from all the build up. I have to use a LOT of products in my hair so I too worry about build up... that is why I use conditioner every day, because the extra coating of ANYTHING on your hair will help break the bonds of the oil and dirt to your hair... But it won't STRIP off all the good oils that are needed to keep your hair healthy.
Every person is different... You may have to try a couple of brands before you find ';The One';. Don't give up...

This is going to sound like common sense but....if your hair is dirty, wash it first. If you want your curls to stay in for a few days and you don't want to wash it for a few days, wash it first. Otherwise, if you hair is clean just go ahead and curl it. :)

I would. Conditioner makes your hair soft and neat and tidy. You want that before you curl because knots when curling can be a total pain!! Shampoo is also good because who wants dirty curls? LOL! Good Luck!

Shampoo the day before but hold out on the conditioner. The curls will not hold so well if the hair has been freshly washed and conditioned. Use good strong hold hair products too.

it really doesnt matter but its better to because your hairs not as oily so it will curl better and if you really want tremendous gorgeous locks try using a styling gel like perology or even bb tonic which is a lotion that protects your hair from the damage caused by heat or even a styling/texurizing spray trust me i have strait hair and it used to take everything for me to keep my hair curly.

It really depends what kind of hair straightener you have. if you have the Wet to straight then it's okay, but if you have the normal ceramic ones then make sure you blow dry and use heat protectant before you curl/straighten your hair =)Is it better to shampoo and condition your hair before you curl it?
